This is "Pistol Pete", the long range Japanese 108-mm gun that alternated with "Washing Machine Charlie" (that flew over at night) in harassing the Marines around Henderson Field and the two fighter strips. Actually, there were five of these guns that were captured during the offensive by our Sixth Regiment.
